I have used Alpine in the past for a few sites and have been impressed with the service that they provide. The hosting ran as a hosting package should – quickly and efficiently, and trouble free most of the time to the point that you forget they are there.
The Alpine sales and marketing division is thankfully not that pushy, with emails from the hosting service restricted to server upgrade notifications and billing notices.
When I did need support, it was totally reliant on email contact with the help desk, which suit me but might not be everyones cup of tea. To tell the truth, I am not sure whether phone support is available, as all problems that I had were solved via email.
The server technicians are highly focused on security, which sometimes can be a little frustrating, but in the long term I guess this is a good thing.
I would recommend Alpine hosting to anyone
Hello everyone. I have been using Alpine for 4 years now as hosting provider
for my three websites and I have been extremely impressed.
In addition to providing ultra-reliable hosting support, the fees are very
competitive and the customer service is tremendous. If I have ever had a
problem, for instance, I have placed a ticket at the help desk on the Alpine
webpage and a response has been almost immediate. My experience has been
that these guys go out of their way to make you happy and this is the reason
why I have stuck solid over 4 years.
Paying monthly or bi-monthly bills is incredibly simple too. They send me
out an automated email and all I do is follow the links and prompts and pay
via Paypal. It is indeed hassle free which allows me to concentrate solely
on the maintenance of my websites.
What more could you ask for?
Darren
I just recently ended a long-term association with Alpine. Over the past 12 months I have noticed that their servers have become slower and slower and whilst I admit the packages are cheap I could no longer sit back watching things grind to a halt.
Another reason for changing was the pure reliance on e-mail/helpdesk support. For my support queries I don’t mind using a helpdesk but occasionally when you really need something done quickly or explained in more detail you just need phone support.
For those who are interested are now happily using a Digital Pacific VPS!
