Planet domain, the people who take your money, hold you forever in a support queue only to tell you that they cant fix ‘it’ right now.
They will take your money, promise to have email up and running immediately and then brush you off while they work out how to get it going.
The performance is pitiful . Also , never but a GEOtrust SSL certificate. Your money disappears, no one can help you and if you buy thru Planet Domain, you get put into a Quality Review process.
Basic stuff from people who really dont care about anything other than taking your money

It's been a few years since I first posted my comments - as can be seen I never moved off them and they have improved immensely since my first encounter. I've had to deal and work with other providers since then and without a doubt they are at the head of the group now for support, flexibility and timeliness.

I have been using them for about 6 years and have had no problems at all. I have multiple domains and hosting. I always got an email reply the same day (Au). So it must depend which site you use. I am quite pleased with them in Australia. Its godaddy that have become jokers-support are donkeys, and have considered moving all my domains and hosting over to planetdomain. (Time consuming so not done yet). I was actually very surprised to see these negative posts, as I actually recommend them. To me they have been great, and any problems- usually from my own hand, have been dealt with very very quickly.

Our company had hosting service for about 4 years with planetdomain.com.au, which was originally cheapdomain.com.au. Service had been fantastic, staff are helpful. Although we had to wait between 15 – 30 minutes for telephone support, but we always had an answer to our problem. However we’ve just been notified on the email that they are going to be sold to another company called netregistry. Not sure whether they will have same level of support we used to get ???

I have been using PlanetDomain for years as my domain and web host. Over the last 2 years their service has steadily declined. I now wait a minimum of 2 days to get a response from their help desk after submitting a ticket, sometimes up to 4-5 days, just for basic information, and even for urgent fixes! They don't advertise the hours their help desk is open, and when you call in what I can only assume is out of their business hours (eg, before 9am?) they don't tell you they are closed, you just stay endlessly on hold, being told "there are no customers ahead of you in the queue". Their domain admin console is appalling. They keep old domain names that have expired in the list, so you can't easily see your current info (and this can't be sorted or changed). Frequently I have problems just accessing information about my domains, eg, basic things, like dns! The site brings up error pages too often. Their URL redirect service rarely works. Their EPP codes sometimes don't work (when transferring out, needed with such poor service!), and then it takes days to get them to respond and provide a new EPP. And, they charge much more than many other hosts. It is really disappointing to see such decline, but that has been my experience. I am completing my transfer-out of all domain names and hosting. Don't use their service - that is my advice.

I have been with Planet Domain since 2005, both as a customer and a reseller. For the purposes of this post, I speak predominately as a customer. I have not had any problems with either hosting of any of my sites nor customers in terms of downtime, except to say, in, I think 2008 they had a major outage in the Houston TX Data Center, due to a fire, which affected all Hosting for my customer base. Since then, Hosting Services have been moved to Sydney AU and have been up and running ever since. As far as support goes, I too deal with them through the Ticket System and although response is slow, queries and resolutions are addressed within 48 hours and below. They may not be the cheapest Domain Name and Hosting Provider out there, but you get for what you pay and Planet Domain gives you value for money and a reliable and feature rich Hosting Service through the CPanel Administration interface that I am happy to pay the extra for and so it seems, are the customers who renew their hosting and domains, both here in Australia and also in Europe and the UK.

I am having the exact same problem. I quickly realized that I cannot afford to run my business like this. I'm trying to move my sites to another webhost but the PlanetDomain.ca website locks up every time I try to change my DNS settings? It only happens for the sites using the EZYREG host (purchased through PlanetDomain.ca) I can't even get away! Now I sit here waiting for them to respond to the 4 trouble tickets I opened.

CAUTION! When I tried to renew my website with PlanetDomain, AKA, USACheapDomains.com, I had two attempted charges on my bank account for the same amount. I went back to the site and saw that it does not have a security lock certificate. Luckly my bank refused the charges and called me. Please be careful with this site.

I am having the same problem as both the people who have posted. They apologized in June for continuing to send me emails that my account was suspended because of non payment. They said it was a glitch between them and the rbsworldpay company that takes the payments. I have never missed a payment in four years! Now, a month later my website is down and I cannot access any of it. It has the ACCOUNT SUSPENDED notice on it. I have sent two emails asking that they terminate my webhosting (after my having been a loyal customer) for this continuing problem and also to give me the code to my domain so that I can transfer. I have another server and am waiting to make the change.
Also this organization appears to be in Australia NOT CANADA where I am. I will likely launch a complaint with perhaps CIRA that approves .ca websites.
What a nightmare.

I cancelled a low volume site with them as they were too expensive for my needs and so they put up a "suspended account" notice on that site and on my business site which had nothing to do with the other one. Of course then I could not receive any business emails for days while it was sorted out so I have lost business due to this. It took numerous emails, tickets and phone calls to very unhelpful people to get it back online. They also forced me to pay an amount of money for hosting that has not been used and are still holding my domain name hostage that I am transferring to another company. They are also preventing one of my clients from renewing her domain name with another company and trying to force her to renew with them. Really not happy Jan!
